My experience was top tier, it’s honestly very hard to find a good fit when it comes to mental health! My psychiatrist definitely made me feel like a part of a family, versus another patient! It’s welcoming and I totally appreciate it.

Dr Gibson is an exceptional psychiatrist who truly listens and makes you feel safe from the very first visit. Unlike other doctors who rush through appointments, Dr. Gibson takes the time to understand your complete story, explains treatment options clearly, and works collaboratively on medication management without any judgment. I would like to share my deep gratitude for Dr. Gibson and his team. My sister had been struggling for years with psychosis and was maintained on an antipsychotic medication. More recently, she was started on Luvox for OCD symptoms by another telehealth provider who spent less than 20 minutes with her on a video call. Over few weeks, we began to notice she was not herself at all. She was excessively sedated, constantly drooling, severely constipated, and seemed almost like a “zombie,” which was very frightening for our family. When Dr. Gibson saw her for the first time for a second opinion consultation, referred by our PCP, he immediately recognized that something was very wrong and raised concern that she may be toxic on her medication. He acted quickly and ordered urgent lab work, which revealed that her antipsychotic level was 2.5 times above the upper therapeutic limit and dangerously toxic. When he saw her few days after, when the labs came back, he immediately admitted to the hospital the same day and her medications were stopped right away. The inpatient team later told us they were shocked she had not already experienced a seizure or other serious complications given how high her levels were. My sister, myself and our entire family are grateful to him and his team, who worked tirelessly to coordinate her urgent admission, advocated and communicate with hospital on our behalf, my sister is now back to herself again, alert, present, and recognizable as the person we know and love. I cannot express enough how grateful we are. Dr. Gibson quite literally helped save her life, and we will never forget the compassion, urgency, and care he showed during such a critical moment and we would be retaining him and his team as her outpatient care team moving forward. Houston is truly fortunate to have him and his team serving the community.
