Medication, Done Thoughtfully

The right plan should make your life easier — not give you a new set of problems to manage.

Psychiatric medications can be life-changing when they’re well-chosen and carefully monitored. Done quickly or impersonally, they can do the opposite.

At Goldstone, medication management is an ongoing relationship. We listen, prescribe carefully, monitor closely, and adjust as your life and symptoms change. The goal is the simplest, most effective plan that helps you feel like yourself.

What we treat with medication

  • Depression and mood disorders — including bipolar spectrum and treatment-resistant depression
  • Anxiety — generalized anxiety, panic, social anxiety, health anxiety
  • ADHD — focus, organization, executive functioning
  • OCD and intrusive thoughts
  • PTSD and trauma-related symptoms
  • Insomnia and sleep concerns
  • Complex or unclear diagnoses — second opinions and diagnostic clarification

How we do it

We start with the right diagnosis.  Medication only works when it’s matched to what’s actually going on.

We prescribe carefully.  Recommendations are guided by evidence, your history, and your sensitivities — not habit.

We monitor closely.  At each visit we look at mood, sleep, energy, side effects, and how you’re functioning.

We keep it simple.  The best plan is usually the simplest one that works.

We explain everything.  You should know why a medication is recommended, what to expect, and how to track progress.

If you've been here before

Many patients come to us after experiences that didn’t feel quite right — being started on something without a clear reason, switching meds without knowing what helped, feeling overmedicated or numb, or being told to keep taking something that no longer makes sense.

That’s a fixable situation. We’ll review what you’re on, why, and whether it still earns its place.

Coming Soon

If medications haven’t given you the relief you’ve been hoping for, advanced options will soon be part of the picture at Goldstone — including TMS, Spravato, and ketamine therapy. Ask us about the timeline during your visit.

Common questions

How often will I see you?

Yes. Most medication management can be done virtually across Texas. Some controlled medications may require an in-person visit, which we can do at our in-person location.

When clinically appropriate and consistent with state and federal guidelines, yes.

We’ll support a thoughtful, gradual taper when it’s the right move. See our Medication Simplification page for more on that.
